PC City or PC Shitty

Today all my venom is aimed at PC City. Let’s first set the scene. I needed a new computer on which to play my ever more RAM hungry games. So I went to PC City.

PC City was offering a buy now pay next year type deal and as someone who is Welsh, I am always up for free interest. So I called them up and asked what was required. My NIE, a bill that is paid from my bank account and a bill addressed to my home address and 3 pay slips. Easy I thought.

What they didn’t tell me, was that as a foreigner, they also wanted a look into my bank account! We went through the paperwork and my credit was obviously approved. Then the sales person said, please can you go on line so we can see that the bank account number you have given us is yours. They wanted me to go online, through their open network, access my bank account so they could look through it. Obviously I said no and asked to see the manager. The manager then promptly told me it was common practice for non-Spanish nationals and was requested by Banco Santander (which ironically is my bank). What was interesting was that my Spanish wife, whom is on the same Spanish bank account, was able to buy it with a pay slip and an ID Card.

So PC City, the racist organization, from now on I will be buying direct on-line from the manufacturer.

What really guiles e is that I have a credit rating on Informa as I am a Director of my company, and PC City actually asked me if I wanted to do it through the B2B dept.

I am wondering if I should create a page dedicated to shops, organizations and agencies that annoy the hell out of expats due to their “special” policies. If anyone has any examples, please append them as a comment, if I get a few, I would like to create this page.
